Kuleni Forward

Welcome to Kuleni Forward
Hi

We believe in sustainable solar power to create positive change in rural Nepali villages. Our mission is simple yet impactful: to provide accessible solar-powered irrigation systems (SPIS) to improve agricultural practices and ensure food security.

For these communities, agriculture is not just an occupation, but their livelihood. However, due to climate change, unpredictable rainfall patterns hinder farmers from fully utilizing their land. This is where we step in. Our vision is to empower these farming communities with sustainable and eco-friendly irrigation systems that enable them to cultivate their land even in the harshest conditions.

Through the implementation of SPIS, we see a future where villages are no longer dependent on erratic rainfall or costly fossil fuel-driven pumps. SPIS provides a reliable water supply, promoting greener irrigation practices and boosting crop yields. This, in turn, creates a ripple effect of positive change, enhancing food security, increasing income opportunities, and fostering overall socio-economic growth.
At Kuleni Forward, we firmly believe in the spirit of collaboration and community engagement. Our projects are not just initiatives imposed from outside but endeavors co-created with local communities. By working hand in hand with farmers, we ensure that our solutions are culturally relevant, sustainable, and aligned with the needs of those we serve.

Every donation, every volunteer's effort, and every partnership is an investment in a brighter, greener, and more prosperous Nepal. Together, we can sow the seeds of change and cultivate a future where sustainable agriculture transforms lives and empowers generations to come.
Join us on this remarkable journey towards a greener tomorrow. Together, we'll plant the seeds of hope and watch them grow into a bountiful harvest of sustainable change.
Welcome to the heart of the sun-powered revolution. Welcome to Kuleni Forward.

Research on five-year impact of Solar Irrigation Systems conducted
Five years after the implementation of solar-powered irrigation systems in the Kuleni village, Arizona State University professor Netra Chhetri, Suraj Neupane from Tribhuvan University and Siena Pradhan from Phillips Andover Academy, conducted a comprehensive study on its impact. The research findings revealed a substantial reduction in food insecurity within the village due to early rice planting facilitated by the solar-powered irrigation system. In Kuleni Rajahar, Nepal, a pilot project on climate-smart agriculture, backed by NGOs LI-BIRD and CGIAR, has revitalized farming practices with solar-based irrigation, reducing dependence on erratic rainfall. The introduction of precision water and nutrition management techniques has led to increased crop diversity and improved yields. This public-private partnership model serves as a promising strategy to combat climate change, enhance food security, and empower local farmers in the region.
Arizona State University students implemented a solar-powered irrigation system in Nepal's Kuleni community, helping smallholder farmers access water year-round. The system uses affordable solar panels and remote monitoring to increase productivity and income for over 25 farmers. This sustainable solution aims to empower farmers and reduce poverty in the region.
